About Jasmine

Jasmine Piao is running for Councillor as an independent.

She recognizes the urgent need for accountability in government and is on a mission to be a voice for the people of Richmond and restore integrity in local governance. Jasmine’s civic engagement began when she addressed Council on experiencing voting accessibility challenges in the 2021 Richmond By-Election and the discovery of a closed-door meeting decision for public policy. In Council decision-making, she seeks to find the truth, preserve moral family values, and uphold tax dollar accountability.

Jasmine is a born and raised Richmond resident, and grew up in East Cambie. While completing her post-secondary studies at SFU, Jasmine worked in roles supporting children and youth. She mentored youth in the Richmond Green Ambassadors program, and supported children of all abilities in the Cambie Out-of-School Care program.

She stands for democratic process, respect and unity among all people, and strength in community.
